Game Overview
Stronghold 4 is an upcoming RTS and city builder developed by Firefly Studios, set to release on PC via Steam in 2026 . It is a prequel to the original Stronghold, following the shepherd Penryn in medieval England .
The Early Access launch will include a 22-mission story campaign, Skirmish Trail, Free Build mode, and Custom Skirmish with 8 CPU opponents . Online multiplayer, an economic campaign, and a co-op trail are planned for later updates .
Key new features:
Unreal Engine 5 visuals and improved realism
Dynamic weather affecting gameplay (snow reduces crop growth, rain reduces archer range)
Enhanced medieval war mechanics and elaborate economic management
A demo is available on Steam . The game is expected to stay in Early Access for approximately six months .

Important Note
Trainers and mods for Stronghold: Definitive Edition (a separate game) are NOT compatible with Stronghold 4 . Stronghold: Definitive Edition has a 26-function trainer from FLiNG , while Stronghold 4 is a new game on Unreal Engine 5.
