Strangely, Hanako refuses to go anywhere near it .

The game features atmospheric locations where the atmosphere slowly shifts from peaceful to deeply unsettling . The hot springs feel calm and welcoming during the day but take on a much darker mood at night — quieter, and filled with the feeling that someone may be watching from beyond the mist. The shrine at the center of the island feels peaceful and traditional during the day but can change completely, and many of the island's secrets are connected to this place .
